USA Technologies Showcases Clean Air Capability of its Energy Management Products at the EPA Air Innovations Show
MALVERN, PA, August 29, 2005 -- USA Technologies (OTCBB: USTT) last week demonstrated to the Nation's environmental professionals its full range of energy management products designed to help reduce harmful pollutants from the atmosphere.
The Pennsylvania-based company had on display its full product line of energy controls: VendingMiser®, VM2iQ?, CoolerMiser?, CM2iQ?, SnackMiser, and PlugMiser? at the EPA Air Innovations Show, at the Four Seasons Hotel, Chicago, Illinois.
The show was attended by federal, state, and local air professionals seeking latest information on new and innovative approaches and technologies for clean air.
The show, hosted by the Environmental Protection Agency, was organized to showcase alternative air pollution solutions and related quality of life improvements.
The USA Technologies exhibit featured how its energy management technologies not only reduce energy consumption, but reduce the amount of CO2 from the air.
"USA Technologies is the global leader in designing technologies to reduce harmful greenhouse gasses generated by refrigerated vending machines and coolers," said John McLaughlin, Vice President of Sales, USA Technologies. "There are an estimated one-million vending machines and coolers located in Federal Sector public buildings alone, each emitting harmful CO2 greenhouse gasses. The energy management product line can immediately reduce that emission by half," he said.
USA Technologies already has a strong Federal Sector customer base after negotiating a five-year contract with the General Services Administration (GSA), which allows federal government agencies to purchase its product line at pre-approved prices, quickly and conveniently, and online.
The contract allows both Federal and State agencies to participate in the program under a Cooperative Purchasing contract, and already the Company has closed sales totaling in the thousands of units with a variety of government agencies, including the defense forces.
"Our goal is to install a VendingMiser on every vending machine and a CoolerMiser on every cooler in government owned buildings, as well as in the private sector nationwide, and already we are in negotiations with a growing number of government agencies, as well as major businesses, including fortune 500 companies operating tens of thousands of vending machines and coolers," said Mr. McLaughlin.
USA Technologies' program to drive greater energy conservation in the federal and state sectors is supported by the recent signing by the President of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which includes investment in energy efficiency and conservation technologies, research and development and energy tax provisions.
USA Technologies has launched a nationwide marketing campaign to promote and generate greater awareness of its energy management product line, which is also receiving widespread attention overseas, including Italy, Germany and Spain.
