US Coast Guard Installs EnergyMiser® to Lower Energy Consumption and Cost on California Bases

MALVERN, Pa, October 3, 2006 -- The US Coast Guard is installing USA Technologies' (OTC Bulletin Board: USAT) EnergyMiser technology to help lower energy consumption and costs.

USA Technologies reported today that the Coast Guard in San Francisco and Oakland had installed VendingMiser® technology on vending machines across both bases.

In recent months USA Technologies' EnergyMiser products have been sold to Fort Hood Army Garrison, the biggest military base in the Nation, to the Texas National Guard, and to Burnsville Air Force Base.

"American military bases are leading by example, installing American designed technology to reduce energy consumption and cut energy costs, and we are delighted that the Coast Guard, a vital arm of the Department of Homeland Security, is taking the same initiative," said Wendy Jenkins, Vice President of Marketing, USA Technologies.

"The US Coast Guard, like other Federal agencies, is taking direct action to lower the drain on the nation's energy grid and by responding to the President's call to conserve, and install energy conservation technology," said Hank Ryan, Principal, Efficiency Data and Development, Santa Cruz, the USA Technologies' distributor who installed the VendingMiser.

Federal agencies increasingly are installing USA Technologies' full range of EnergyMiser products including VendingMiser®, CoolerMiser? and SnackMiser?. These products reduce energy consumption by up to 45 percent in vending machines, coolers and various commercial appliances. USA Technologies estimates purchases of its EnergyMiser products could save the Federal Government millions of dollars in electricity costs annually.

"Not only does the VendingMiser have the ability to deliver substantial savings, but it also lowers C02 emissions, making it a powerful tool in the fight against global warming," said Mr. Ryan.

Much of the EnergyMiser technology is being purchased through the General Services Administration (GSA) Advantage shopping system, which enables Federal and State government agencies to purchase EnergyMisers directly from USA Technologies at pre approved prices.
